Alginate

 Another amazing fibre is Alginate. As mentioned earlier I found learning about medical textiles really interesting and Alginate is in a similar category. The Fibre comes from brown seaweed and due to its iodine context has natural healing properties. Incredibly it has anti-flammatory / antiseptic properties, can hasten blood clotting and encourages healing on damaged skin.
