Firstly, what is a textile?

'a flexible woven material constructed from a network of natural or artificial fibres'

Like many others I immediately associate the word textile with fashion or interior furnishings. However, the official definition tells us that a textile is any material made up of interlacing fibres. Meaning that they play a bigger part in our day to day lives than we may have previously thought. Take a look at the blog posts above to see just some of the many examples from the world of textiles!
